Praying for peace in Ukraine

One year ago today Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and in the 12 months since tens of thousands of people have died, cities have been ruined, millions of people have been forced to flee their home and many people have been imprisoned, in both countries, for refusing to fight and resisting the war.

Nuclear weapons have been on the news agenda constantly over the past year, with threats from Vladimir Putin to use nuclear weapons on various occasions, and the recent withdrawal from the New START Treaty.

Christian CND joins those around the world, including the Archbishop of Canterbury, in calling for an immediate and lasting just peace in Ukraine. We hope you will all join with us today as we pray for peace.

There is a chance to join others in praying for peace this evening with the weekly prayers hosted by our friends at Church and Peace, Fellowship of Reconciliation and others. Register for the free Zoom link here.
