During September, we bring before the Lord the leaders of this world who have authority over the development and use of nuclear weapons. At Christian CND we strive to pray and work for an end to nuclear weapons and more peaceful lives for everyone.
26 September: International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons.
UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, addressing the UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva earlier this year said, “The nuclear option is not an option at all. It is a one-way road to annihilation. We need to avoid this dead-end at all costs.”

That world leaders will turn away from preparations and plans for war. Lord, may hearts be transformed and the work of nuclear disarmament be pursued with new energy.
That our own government will heed the call of Christians, alongside many other voices, and commit wholeheartedly to taking real steps towards nuclear disarmament.
We give thanks for the beauty of creation and our fellow human beings. Lord God, transform any anger and frustration we feel and give us powerful words of truth and peace in our conversations with others about nuclear weapons.
