During May, we remember how the disciples struggled to understand what Jesus’ resurrection meant. We mark the day he ascended into heaven, instructing them to ‘be my witnesses…to the ends of the earth.’ We at Christian CND are witnesses to the Gospel. We look forward to the fulfilment of the Kingdom of God and in the meantime, we continue our struggle to contribute to the work of abolishing nuclear weapons.
Pray with us
Lord Jesus our Saviour, who makes all things new, we ask you to refresh our resolve to work towards nuclear disarmament and peace, in your holy name.
Loving God, we trust that in the time you have set, your Kingdom will come. Reveal to us the steps we can take to play our part in the time you have allotted us.
Lord of life, in this year of the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we put our faith in you, not in threats of complete destruction. May we encourage more Christian people to stand with us against nuclear weapons in prayer and action.
