Christian CND Prayer Diary – November 2025

Join us in prayer this month.

1 November is All Saints’ Day, when we think of that ‘great cloud of witnesses’ from the past who still surround us with their prayers. But the New Testament describes all Christian believers as ‘saints’ or ‘holy people’, so we may also think of our fellow Christians who surround and encourage us here on earth today. That includes our CCND family!

All Saints leads into the Kingdom Season. We rejoice that the Kingdom of God has come through Jesus, and we pray that it would continue to advance on earth – a Kingdom in which nuclear weapons have no place!

The nuclear world

We give thanks that a global majority of countries now rejects nuclear weapons. As of September, 99 out of 197 eligible states had signed, ratified or acceded the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW). We pray that this community of nations would continue to grow and have an influence on others.

The work of CCND

We give thanks for our Conference and pray for CCND over the coming year. May Paul Ingram’s keynote speech inspire us as we continue our work.

We give thanks for Leah Hislop’s art installation – ‘Hope ‘Hope Will Bloom From These Ashes’ – at Coventry Cathedral and for everyone who saw it. We pray that it might be displayed at other cathedrals over the coming months.

Our CCND family

We give thanks for the life and witness of Michael Pulham, and continue to pray for Patricia and their family.

We give thanks for those who contributed so much to Exec last year but have now sadly stepped down: Aaron, Bridget & Theresa.

We pray for those on this year’s Exec, including our new member, Aisling.

We give thanks for and pray for all of our members and supporters in their witness for a world free of nuclear weapons.

A Prayer

God of peace,
thank you for the cloud of witnesses who have shown us how to live faithfully and courageously, working for the elimination of nuclear weapons from your beautiful world.
Give us strength to run the race before us — to work for justice, to seek peace, and to lay down the weapons of nuclear war and the terrifying, sinful threat that clings to them.
May we be counted among those who witness to your love and the hope of your Kingdom; in Jesus’ name. Amen.

With thanks to Theresa Alessandro
