Pilgrimage for Life and Peace 2020

Christian CND is delighted to be welcoming members of the Bargn Nuri Community to London on Monday 27 January for an event at St Ethelburga’s to share experiences and hear about their work for peace on the Korean Peninsula.

Bargn Nuri is a Christian Community based in South Korea, they are currently undertaking a Pilgrimage for Life and Peace which began in October 2017, at the height of tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Their pilgrimage has so far visited around 30 countries. After visiting London they will be heading to the United Nations in Geneva for further meetings.

The event will be a great chance to hear about what it has been like to live on the front line of peacemaking, with the threat of a nuclear-armed North Korea on one hand and the war games of the United States and threats from Donald Trump on the other. The group ranges in age, with some having grown up in the shadow of the current tensions.

The visit also reminds us that despite all the troubles and tensions around the world, from the Korean Peninsula to the Middle East and elsewhere, there are followers of Christ living out His calling to be peacemakers. Our prayer is that the event on Monday will inspire us to redouble our efforts to work and pray for a nuclear weapons-free world.

The event is free and includes a shared lunch at the end. This is a rare chance to hear from brothers and sisters living in South Korea, we do hope you will be able to join us.
