The global prayer movement Thy Kingdom Come is taking place again this year, starting on Ascension Day and running through to Pentecost (13-23 May). Millions of Christians from around the world will taking part to pray together – though things will be a little different this year because of the pandemic.
The theme of Thy Kingdom Come is ‘Take 5’ – each day people are being encouraged to pray for 5 family members and friends to know the love of Jesus.
Christian CND is again joining in with the event, adapting the theme slightly so that we are praying for five individuals or organisations involved in or affected by nuclear weapons and peace issues in the UK and around the world.
We’re working on a Prayer Diary which you’ll be able to download and print to use at home throughout the eleven days. We’re also hosting our usual monthly online Prayer Meetings during Thy Kingdom Come to allow us to pray together. If you’ve never been to one of our Zoom gatherings before they are free to attend but we do ask that you register first. The Prayer Meetings will be taking place at noon on Monday 17 May and 8pm on Thursday 20 May.
We’ll be wrapping up Thy Kingdom Come with a 24 hour prayer room, which gets underway with a Prayer Meeting at 9am on Saturday 22 May and will be open through to 9am on Sunday 23 May – the final day of Thy Kingdom Come 2021. You can drop in throughout the time and there will be someone to pray with you or just have a chat. We’re also looking for volunteers to sign up and host the room for one of the 45 minute blocks. Get in touch if that’s something you’d be interested in.
