Christian CND is urging believers and all those who seek a world without nuclear weapons to sign the Appeal of Hibakusha ahead of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference in New York, which starts at the end of April.
The Hibakusha are those who survived the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, many of them are now well into the 80s and have devoted their lives to campaigning for a nuclear weapons-free world. Christian CND is inspired by their efforts and we want to do all we can to support them.
At the United Nations in New York the international community will gather for the Review Conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, a meeting which takes place every five years to look at progress made towards nuclear disarmament. This Conference looks set to be difficult, amid tensions between Russia and the United States, the collapse of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty and the decision of the United States to withdraw from the Iran Nuclear Deal. However, as Christians we always have hope.
Please add your name to those calling for the elimination of nuclear weapons by signing the petition below. Signatures will then be added to those gathered around the world and presented to the United Nations.
